The tree shows the straight line ancestry from the current oldest known YOUNG to my youngest son. For descendants of Joe, David and Pat Young, simply step in at William Young (b.1933) ….. everything above that point is valid for you !
Our Young family can be traced back to 1804 at the foot of the Malvern Hills in the village of Bromsberrow, Worcestershire which was actually in Gloucestershire at the time. There are much older records in Bromsberrow featuring the “Yonge” family which suggests the family’s roots may go back a lot further in the area.
They worked the local land as agricultural labourers until one of the many William Youngs headed for the “promised land” of Birmingham in 1882 …… and the rest, as they say, is history !
